What is Active Travel to School Day?

An opportunity to ride, walk, scoot, or skate to and from school or around your neighbourhood. Lots of students are learning at home during term 2 and we want to make sure that you are getting the required 60 minutes of physical activity every day! Use this day to learn the skills to ride, walk, scoot, or skate to school so you can continue once school goes back to normal learning.

How do I get involved?

Follow these three simple steps to join in:

1. Calculate the distance to get from your home to school and back again. You can use Google Maps to calculate the distance. Aim to ride or walk this distance on the day.
2. Register on our website for the chance to win great prizes
3. Ride, walk, scoot, or skate to school or around your neighbourhood (using the total distance you calculated) on Friday 15 May.

What are the Prizes?

Prizes on offer:
1^st prize – Trek bike package valued at $500
2^nd prize – $200 Rebel Sport Voucher
3^rd prize – Garmin Vivofit Jr. 2 valued at $100

There will also be a prize for the school with the most registrations, so make sure you tell your school friends!

Registrations close 6pm on Friday 15 May. Prizes will be drawn on Monday 18 May and winners will be contacted using the provided contact details.

Share your Involvement

Don’t forget to take a photo/video of yourself on the day and share it on social media using the hashtag #ActiveTraveltoSchoolDay.

What to Remember

When deciding how you participate, please ensure you are maintaining appropriate social distancing protocols, which includes ensuring you are at a safe physical distance from those around you. Current government restrictions can be found here.

We would love to see you getting your family involved, take the dog for a walk, push your younger sibling in a pram, or challenge your older siblings to a race!
